The Royal Ambassadors ... is a group for boys in 1st - 6th grades.
We have meetings every 1st & 3rd Wednesday of each month starting @ 7:00pm.
We also have various activities throughout the year including camping, fishing, the RA field days, Durham Bulls'
games and other fun things for young boys.
Purpose
The purpose of Royal Ambassadors is to involve boys in missions. Involvement in missions is living one's faith daily:
personal experience in witness and ministry, and giving and praying to support persons involved in missions. The
Royal Ambassador program helps boys to become aware of the needs of people around the world and to respond
to those needs. The organization seeks to lead boys to a personal commitment to Christ and assist them in their
Christian growth experience. Through Royal Ambassadors, boys are led to an awareness of their responsibility to
Christ and encouraged to become His ambassador. This purpose is outlined in the Royal Ambassador Pledge.
As a Royal Ambassador I will do my best:
* To become a well-informed, responsible follower of Christ;
* To have a Christlike concern for all people;
* To learn how to carry the message of Christ around the world;
* To work with others in sharing Christ; and
* To keep myself clean and healthy in mind and body.
WHY THE NAME ROYAL AMBASSADORS?
The RA Motto, "We are Ambassadors for Christ," not only gives the organization its name, but also gives the boys
and leaders a lifestyle goal. This Motto is taken from Scripture, specifically 2 Corinthians 5:20.
The Scripture passage 2 Corinthians 5:17-20 describes the purpose of Royal Ambassadors. While the RA motto is
found in verse 20, the other verses sum up Paul's declaration of why we need to be ambassadors for Christ.
"Therefore if anyone is in Christ, there is a new creation; old things have passed away, and look, new things have
come. Now everything is from God, who reconciled us to Himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of
reconciliation: that is, in Christ, God was reconciling the world to Himself, not counting their trespasses against
them, and He has committed the message of reconciliation to us. Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ;
certain that God is appealing through us, we plead on Christ's behalf, 'Be reconciled to God.'" (2 Corinthians.
